  • 1kg potatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 clove of peeled garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ cold butter


  1. Put potatoes in a pot of cold salted water, bring to boil, simmer until very tender; time depending on size.
  2. Put the garlic bay leaf and thyme in a sauce pan with the milk, bring to boil, turn off heat, let sit for 10 minutes, take out garlic and herbs.
  3. Once potatoes are done peel while hot, mush them up with butter.
  4. Bring milk to a boil again and slowly beat into potatoes
  5. Voila!

This is a piece of artwork by a 20th century French painter named Georges Braque.  He was born on the 13th of May in 1882 Argenteuil Val-d’Oise, and died on august 31st 1963 in Paris at the age of 81.
